Sakhalin Energy became a partner in the special nomination of the Cultural Code competition dedicated to the Year of Cultural Heritage of the Peoples of Russia.
Oil and gas company Sakhalin Energy LLC – Sakhalin-2 project operator supports and implements initiatives aimed at strengthening harmonious interethnic relations and developing the culture of the indigenous minorities of the North. For the second year in a row, the company has been a partner in the nomination of SMIrotvorets All-Russian Competition for the best media coverage of issues related to interethnic and ethno-confessional relations.
“Our company takes special care of preservation and promotion of indigenous languages of Sakhalin Oblast: the Nivkhs, the Uilta, the Evenks and the Nanai,” said Natalia Gonchar, Head of the Corporate Affairs Division of Sakhalin Energy LLC. “Preservation and development of the cultural and linguistic heritage of the peoples of Russia is the common cause of the authorities, educational and cultural institutions, NPOs, business and journalistic community. Our company considers participation in this work a social responsibility. That is why we support the SMIrotvorets contest and consider it necessary to encourage journalists who speak with talent and professionalism about the traditions, customs, and topical problems of indigenous peoples.”
The SMIrotvorets -2022 competition for the best media coverage of issues related to interethnic and ethno-confessional relations is held by the Federal Agency for Ethnic Affairs as part of the RF State Programme “Implementation of State National Policy” initiated and supported by the Guild of Interethnic Journalism.
