Sakhalin Energy is a Participant in the All-Russian Industrial Tourism Development Project
The project is being developed within the framework of the Industrial Tourism Accelerator, which aims to enhance the socio-economic development of the regions, promote the industrial sector, environmental education and sustainable development, and provide vocational guidance. At the federal level, 50 constituent entities of the Russian Federation and more than 500 companies have already become participants in this project implemented by the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI), the Presidential Academy and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia.
Sakhalin Oblast is represented by the largest team with 10 regional enterprises in the project’s working group. The oil and gas industry is represented by Sakhalin Energy LLC. The first national brand route to bring Sakhalin participants together is called ‘Here the Day Begins’.
At the beginning of the year, federal experts visited the Prigorodnoye production complex to evaluate the Company's 'Conquerors of Energy' vocational guidance programme.
Participants of the tour to Sakhalin Energy's largest facility learned about the key operational stages of LNG production; visited the central control room, a simulation centre to train its future operators, and a laboratory where analytical monitoring of water, oil products, gas mixtures and reagents involved in the natural gas liquefaction process takes place.
A separate section of the programme is dedicated to the development of the Sakhalin-2 project's human resource potential and Sakhalin Energy's career guidance activities – from the promotion of oil and gas professions at the school level to the corporate apprenticeship programme.
Olga Zakharova, Director of ASI’s Urban Development and Tourism Subdivision, summarised her impressions from the visit to the company's asset: “A nationwide competence centre should be created on the basis of the company, since all required areas are well-honed here – safety, immersion in the profession, interactive training, and, of course, theory and practice.”
