Sakhalin Energy, the operator of the oil and gas Sakhalin-2 project, is celebrating its 25th anniversary

Since 1994 the company has been successfully developing Sakhalin-2, one of the largest and most technically challenging projects in the oil and gas industry.

With the benefit of the advanced technologies and expertise of its shareholders, the Sakhalin-2 operator has built a solid base for LNG production, a new sector in Russian economy. The company has achieved historical breakthroughs by installing the country's first ice-class offshore platforms to produce oil and gas and launching the first in Russia LNG plant. 

Successful operations have driven successful export performance. The share of Sakhalin LNG is 4.8% in the Asia-Pacific and 3.6% globally. Sakhalin Energy provides stable LNG and oil supplies to key buyers in the Asia-Pacific region. The annual sales are 11.5 mln tonnes of LNG and 5.5 mln tonnes of crude oil. 

Sakhalin Energy relies in its business on operational excellence, sustainability and safety, adhering to high standards on environmental and social responsibility. 

The company has set itself ambitious goals to refurbish and upgrade its production facilities based on the up-to-date solutions.
