The UN Global
Compact is the world's largest international voluntary
initiative aimed at improving corporate social
responsibility.
Sakhalin Energy joined the Global Compact in 2009. Its participants
agree to follow
ten fundamental principles in the field of human rights, labour
relations, environmental protection, and anti-corruption. The main
objective of the Global Compact is integration of these ten
principles in business activities and assistance in achieving the
broader goals of the UN.
Sakhalin Energy has become the first Russian company selected by the United Nations to participate in the new platform for Corporate Sustainability Leadership — the Global Compact LEAD within the framework of the UN Global Compact. The Global Compact LEAD unites more than 50 companies which are renowned leaders in the field of corporate social responsibility.
Sakhalin Energy is an active participant in the UN Global Compact Network in Russia.
In 2011, Sakhalin Energy became a member of the European Business Congress, which is an international non-governmental, non-profit organisation founded in December 1997.
